CREAMY TARTAR SAUCE

This creamy tartar sauce recipe is quick, easy & delicious. This recipe only consists of four ingredients & is a simple & creamy tartar sauce. It is not to be mistaken for cream of tartar (potassium bitartrate), Tardar Sauce, or tartaric acid.
Tartar sauce, tartare sauce or tarator sauce is a mayonnaise or aioli-based sauce. It is frequently utilized as a condiment with fish (seafood) dishes.
Creamy Tartar Sauce Ingredients:
- 4 tablespoons mayonnaise
- 4 teaspoons lemon juice
- Pinch of salt
- 4 teaspoons pickle juice
Method:
- Add the mayonnaise to a bowl.
- Add to it the lemon juice, salt & the pickle juice. I have found that using the juice of an onion pickle works really well. This way you get the onion taste as well without having to add chopped onions to the sauce. Adding chopped onions to the sauce leaves it clumpy whilst the onion pickle juice leaves the sauce with a creamy texture & a flavorful tartar sauce. (Brown or White Pickled Onion Juice may be used).
- Mix well.
- Refrigerate for one hour (60 minutes).
- Serve with seafood dishes. (Tempura Crumbed Calamari, Fish & Chips, Squid Heads, Mussels, Oysters).
