Make authentic Famous Bowl with this foolproof recipe. Packed with rich traditional flavor, step-by-step photos, and cooking tips by Denisiya on EatMee Recipes.

The Famous Bowl is such a versatile meal that can be eaten any time of day. If you haven’t tried this delicious meal as yet, this recipe will have you making these bowls so often that you wont need to leave the house.
This Famous Bowl is basically layers of deliciousness, which include; mashed potatoes, chicken pops (tenders), mouth watering gravy, sweet corn & cheese.
Begin by preparing the mashed potatoes.

Peel the potatoes & dice into squares. Add the potatoes to a pot of water with 1 teaspoon salt. Bring to a boil until potatoes are soft. A fork should be able to pierce through the potatoes once it’s ready.

Once the potatoes are soft, strain into a colander to remove the excess water.

Place the strained potatoes into a medium/large bowl.

Add in ½ teaspoon salt, garlic powder & butter.

Using a fork or a masher, mash together the potatoes until smooth. Thereafter stir in the chicken stock (broth).

Prepare the Popcorn Chicken & set aside.

Add the frozen sweetcorn to a microwaveable safe bowl.

Add a little boiled water & cover with cling wrap. Thereafter using a fork or a knife, pierce a few holes on the cling wrap.

Microwave for 4-5 minutes & then strain in a colander to remove excess water.

Once the water has drained out, empty the sweetcorn into a bowl.

Prepare the Chicken Gravy.

In a serving bowl, add a layer of the mashed potatoes.

Add some of the sweetcorn over the mashed potatoes.

Next place over the fried Popcorn Chicken.

Thereafter, pour over the Chicken Gravy.

Finally, top it off with some grated cheese.

Serve as is or with a side of Crunchy Coleslaw.

It’s best to layer this KFC Copycat Famous Bowl when you’re ready to eat instead of doing it before hand because the chicken will get soggy.

If you prefer the cheese being melted & all gooey then you can pop this bowl into the microwave until the cheese has melted.
