Semolina Biscuits

SEMOLINA BISCUITS

 


This Recipe Makes ± 28 Semolina Biscuits


 

Semolina Biscuits are super yum. These biscuits (cookies) literally melt in your mouth & are enjoyable any time of day. They are very simple to prepare & trust me, once you’ve tried it, you will be making batches of them ever so often. These Semolina Biscuits are also great for functions, events & religious festivals such as Eid or Diwali/Deepavali.

Semolina Biscuits Ingredients:

  • ¼ cup semolina
  • 250 grams butter
  • 1 cup castor sugar
  • 2 cups all purpose flour
  • 3 tablespoons vegetable oil

Method:

  1. Firstly, preheat oven to 180° Celsius or 356° Fahrenheit.
  2. Add the butter to a mixing bowl.
  3. Semolina Biscuits
  4. Add ½ cup castor sugar to the butter.
  5. Cream the butter & castor sugar either using an electric mixer or a wooden spoon.
  6. Pour in the vegetable oil.
  7. Mix well.
  8. Next, add in the semolina.
  9. Mix well.
  10. Finally, add in the all purpose flour.
  11. Mix well until it forms a cookie dough.
  12. Prepare a baking tray by spraying some spray & cook & then dust with some flour.
  13. Pinch off small pieces of the cookie dough. Roll into balls.
  14. Place the balls of dough onto the prepared baking tray. Make sure that the balls are small & there is some space between each of them as they will rise when baking.
  15. Using a fork, press down on each of the dough balls to create a lined design.
  16. This will also push the dough down a bit, creating a circular biscuit (cookie).
  17. Bake these biscuits at 180° Celsius for 10-15 minutes until lightly golden.
  18. The dough may be a bit tender & seem uncooked but they will firm up once cooled.
  19. Transfer the biscuits from the baking tray onto a cooling rack.
  20. Allow them to cool until warm to the touch.
  21. In a small bowl, add in the remaining ½ cup of castor sugar.
  22. Dunk the warm biscuits, one at a time into the bowl of castor sugar & coat throughout.
  23. The Semolina Biscuits are ready to serve.
  24. Serve them with a cup of coffee/tea or even Turkish Coffee.
  25. These Semolina Biscuits can be stored in an airtight container for up to two weeks.
  26. Enjoy these melt in your mouth Semolina Biscuits.
