Baked Beans With Viennas

BAKED BEANS WITH VIENNAS

This Indian Recipe Serves 2-3

Baked Beans With Viennas is such a quick & simple meal to prepare. This meal can be served throughout the day.

Baked beans is a dish containing beans, in some cases baked, regardless of the name, generally stewed, in a sauce. Most commercially canned baked beans are produced using haricot beans, otherwise called naval force beans – an assortment of Phaseolus vulgaris in a sauce. In Ireland & the United Kingdom, a tomato sauce is most generally utilized, & they are regularly eaten on toast or as a feature of a full English, Scottish or Irish Breakfast.

Canned baked beans are utilized as a convenience food. They might be eaten hot or cold straight from the can as they are completely cooked.

A vienna is a cylinderical shaped meat item typically processed using ground meat, frequently pork or chicken, alongside salt, spices & different flavorings. Viennas are sold cooked in a packaging & can be eaten hot or cold.

Baked Beans With Viennas Ingredients:

Method:

  1. Firstly, remove viennas from the packaging, I have used chicken viennas but you may use viennas of your choice.
  2. I used six viennas to prepare this meal but you can use more if you want to.
  3. Dice the viennas into small bite sized chunks & set aside. I also chose to slit each side of the diced viennas but that is completely optional.
  4. Chop onion & set aside.
  5. Chop the tomato & set aside. Tomatoes can be omitted but I prefer using them to form extra gravy.
  6. Slit green chillies & set aside.
  7. In a medium sized pot, add in the cooking oil, followed by the chopped onion, curry leaves & thyme.
  8. Thereafter, add in the green chillies. Allow to simmer for a minute until onions are translucent.
  9. Next, add in the spices – chilli powder, turmeric powder & dhania powder. Also add in ginger & garlic paste & mix well. Allow to simmer for a minute. Add water if necessary.
  10. Once spices have cooked, drop in the tomatoes.
  11. Mix well, add water if necessary & allow tomatoes to cook for about 10 minutes.
  12. When tomatoes have cooked, drop in the diced viennas.
  13. Mix well & allow the viennas to cook for 10 minutes.
  14. When the viennas are cooked they will be puffed up.
  15. Now you’re going to add in the baked beans. I used the Koo brand but you can use whichever brand suites you.
  16. Add salt to taste. Gently mix & allow the baked beans to simmer for another 10 minutes.
  17. Garnish with fresh dhania (coriander).
  18. Serve whilst hot.
  19. This Baked Beans With Viennas goes well with bread or naan.
